Joint replacements are increasing around the world at a rapid rate. Occasionally joint replacements have complications or go wrong and need to be revised or have something done to them. This can be very costly to the patient and funders as these surgeries are complex and difficult to perform. One of the ways they can go wrong is that they become infected. Treating an infected joint replacement is a long and hard road for the patient and their family and requires a team of specialised doctors and nurses.
